The world is engulfed in severe crisis; COVID-19. The magnitute of it’s impact is unknown. A global recession has been declared by International Monetary Fund (IMF). Some fear a depression underway! Globally, the business has taken a massive hit.

While many are enjoying the COVID-19 and lockdown memes, little do they know what’s coming. The worst is yet to come, probably.

There are many organizations in our country that are extremely employee caring and contributes significantly towards the country’s GDP. They are doing their best to sustain in these extreme difficult times! But, for how long?

Many organizations across the globe in several countries are either in verge of solvency or already bankrupt. My friend said, “you are lucky to have a job”. He added “my brother has lost his job already and i am out of work since couple of months”. One of my friend heading an IT delivery center of a large IT outsourcing company lost most of his unit’s revenue overnight as the industy segment he supported has been severly impacted. And, I hear similar stories around my known circles.

If the crisis continues longer, in a matter of time we either have a job or we don’t! The company and quality of work may soon become irrelevant.

Like many, I too have witnessed two recessions in the past. Most of us managed to pass through difficulties faced during these times.

By nature, i have a positive outlook towards any situation. At the same tine i do not like being ignorant of the current situation. Those who have a job let’s consider ourselves fortunate and give our best so that our organization continue to sustain. I personally feel It’s not a right time for preferences and choices. Pick up any work that comes your way! Work hard, keep learning new areas and develop new skills. When the situation starts improving and new opportunities open up, venture into new areas.

Stay whereever you are, work in any area you are offered, innovate in the area of your work, keep learning, stay hopeful, positive and safe.

“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” – Dolly Parton
